As many of my friends know, I have a slight obsession with people who cosplay, purely from an anthropological stand point mind you. Like clowns most cosplay participants scare me, but understanding why they cosplay is always fascinating. Even more fascinating is how certain counties take cosplay to another level. Everyone knows Japan is the birthplace of cosplay and the costumes and “dedication” is sometimes awe-inspiring. What I didn’t know is China and Russia have some serious cosplay issues, and stranger still in with no Games Workshop support have created crazed Warhammer fans.
Once such demonstration of Warhammer 40k fanaticism is what seems to be a traveling Warhammer 40k acting troupe in China.
Here are some of their performances!

The costumes are pretty amazing, but I have no idea what they are saying or what morality play is going on. What is most intriguing, is the Chinese government lets them put these things on, but I guess when you think about the Imperium is also a totalitarian regime I guess it makes sense.
Speaking of totalitarian regimes, we have cosplayers from Russia. Now this video is a little creepy and speaks deeply, to how can we say… F**KED up Russian men are.

Now if that wasn’t disturbing enough, I leave you with New Zealand cosplay that goes to show that attention starved gamer girls are the same all across the world…
