So I am back from the playing at the Guardian Cup 8! A 48 player two-day ITC Tournament hosted by Guardian Games. If you missed last week’s posts, I am still playing around with the Dark Angels, and doing way better than I ever expected considering the power level of the codex.
Here is a look at my list.

I was able to go 3-1-1 and was 3-0 day one. On day-two took I had a draw against new D-tastic Eldar, my only loss came against the 2nd best general, who’s only loss was to the best general. I fought against three Necron, one Eldar, and Space Wolf player. Taking Sisters Ally was super clutch, the Saint was able to get in me into assaults I had no business attempting and the Priest made my foot slogging unit all, but un-killable. The event itself had a lot of Necrons, Eldar, and Tyranids, not as many Daemonkin as I expect, and absolutely no Grey Knights or Daemons armies!
Here are the lists and player who made it to the top.
The Best General winner and only player to go 5-0 was Jeremy Veysseire, otherwise known as the French Overlord. He took a modified version of his Skitarii list he used at Storm of Silence.

Second place was a tie between former ETC team member Ben Cromwell and JP Mawet (a very good Daemon player). I don’t have JP’s list, but I know it was Eldar with Space Marine Allies.
Ben Cromwell’s list though I do know, because he beat me with it in the final round.
Here it is…

A tie for 3rd/4th went to Adam Merlic and his Tau army, which took Best Overall when combining all the soft scores!

Finally, here is the complete result sheet from the event.
A few takeaways from the Guardian Cup 8…
- More Eldar players are starting to show up, and performing better than most.
- Folks shoehorning in the Firebase Cadre formation– I cannot wait for the new Tau codex to remove that.
- LoW Super-Heavies and Gargantuans giving up victory points for missions is turning out to be a big deal.
Beyond the lists Guardian Cup was a very well run event with tons of great players, but I wasn’t impressed with armies from a paint standard perspective. I was still able to take a few pictures showcasing some the good-looking armies around. Here is a gallery for perusing.
I had a really good time and enjoyed all the good eats Portland has to offer, along with the great company! Cannot wait to head to the area again!

Tits for Tournaments is rated factually opinionated. Expect results, army lists, and some light bitching about boring spam lists to follow.
