Before GW  joined ranks of publicly traded companies there was a time when GW was, but a small fish in a rather large gaming universe. By the late 80s GW was just starting to develop the in-depth backgrounds to their game universes we eventually grew to love.

So, in attempt to gain greater awareness they produced board games in conjunction with the largest board game company in the world, Milton Bradley (own by Hasbro). The partnership produced three games that would join the annuals of nerd lore.

  • HeroQuest 1989
  • Space Crusade 1990
  • Battle Masters 1992

With the help of Milton Bradley this allowed the GW universe to reach a larger audience. Only problem; GW couldn’t explicitly reference their own products, still the Warhammer aesthetic was undeniable.

By far the best part of the GW Milton partnership was the tv commercials created for these games. It is for that reason they are the best of the 40k Internet…
