Network News: The Worst Kickstarter ever?

Now that Kickstarter has become uber popular the amount of bad Kickstarters has abounded.

The worst have certain markers that make them unmistakable.

When scrutinizing a Kickstarter I check mark these various boxes.

 

 

• Veiled attempt to fund life
• Pledges with no real tangible value
• Crappy video production
• Asking for an exorbitant amount of money
• Has never funded another project
• Pure vanity play
• Providing a service or product that is already free and or ubiquitous
• Not clearly thought out

Now even successful projects get funded with a few of these problems. Then there are some that can get crushed by just one of these problems, remember Gates of Antares? Then are some that are so sad they die a quick death without anyone ever noticing. One though that is just too hard not to show was created by Darrell Dobbin.

Now for those that don’t know Darrell, he was one of the main cogs at Beasts of War, that still going on poor business model of a website. The one with unnavigable website and hard to understand videos. Anyway, Darrell has since left/booted nobody really knows and now he thinks he can out war Beasts of War!
