Fresh off the heels of the release of Space Hulk on the PC, it now looks like Games Workshop is moving on to another game called Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf. I do believe this is the first game that is centered around the Space Wolves which is a much needed departure from generic backgroundless chapters.

The game will be Android, PC, iOS compatible with free-to-play options and limited multiplayer.

--Gamereactor has the release details here...

Warhammer 40K fans are being spoiled at the moment, as another title based on the popular IP has just been announced. Warhammer 40,000: Space Wolf is a new title from HeroCraft, set to be released in 2014 on iOS, Android and PC.

It's to be a free-to-play turn-based strategy game that uses collectible cards to drive the actions of 3D characters. Gamers will play their cards and watch the action play out in realtime, as they lead the Space Wolves into battle against the Word Bearers and the Necrons.

There's different paths to pursue, based on your playing style (Grey Hunter, Wolf Scout, Blood Claw, or Wolf Guard), as players take on a campaign with branching storylines in a variety of different environments.

"HeroCraft have presented us with a unique and exciting vision for a game based on this most evocative and barbaric chapter of Space Marines - the Space Wolves," said Games Workshop's Jon Gillard. "Given that, their clear passion for the IP, and their experience in the market, we are only too happy to be working with them on this project."
This is an ad:

"We are all very excited to work with Games Workshop on this project, particularly our development team, who are not only games industry veterans but also Warhammer 40,000 fans who know the series well. As a gamer myself, I'm also excited about the mix of tactical turn based play using my own deck of cards to lead my Space Wolves to victory." added HeroCraft's Alexey Sazonov.

As for images here is a few.

The game will also see Necrons which is interesting twist, though I imagine Necrons are vastly easier to render than many 40k races. I think GW's strategy of going with quantity over quality is a shrewd move as they build the IP by creating easy quick games instead of putting all there eggs in one AAA console title.
