It’s been a short three weeks since I took my Dark Angels out for their first tournament; now this weekend I will head up North again to the land of dirty hipsters and artisanal beer, otherwise known as Portland. The tournament I will be attending is the Guardian Cup now in its 8th year. This 50+ two-day ITC Tournament hosted by the legendary Guardian Games will feature the best of the Pacific Northwest and coming along for the ride are some of the best players from California.
In my last post I talked about going from two to three sources with my Dark Angels. I narrowed my choices down to three lists, and the one I have decided to take for this weekend is going to be…
TastyTaste’s Dark Angels & Sisters
I decided to take the Sisters because, I felt the Saint was just too good to pass-up and don’t feel like I lost anything by taking her, and gained a Priest in the process. I just hope it wasn’t a mistake to neglect beefing up my Ravenwing Command unit who needs to preform better this time around for me to have a shot at a winning record.
As this is the second tournament with my Dark Angels, I am going to raise my expectations a little higher from last time. I am looking for a 3-2 record, against a level of competition slightly tougher this time around, and hopefully I will keep my expectations in check.
The Guardian Cup pretty much runs straight ITC with the same missions, rules, and FAQs.
I only see Mission 2 being a problem as I do give up a lot of Kill Points with so many MSU units and ICs; I will have to win Maelstrom and get two out of the three bonus points to win. The rest of the missions typically play into my list’s strength as long as the games don’t go on too long, my army tends to crap out around turn 5. I don’t know exactly what to expect from the local meta, but the Pacific Northwest prefers Shooting over Assault, soooo Eldar, Tau, and Necrons should top of the lists?
Like last time I will be posting coverage of the event, along with tracking how well some of the players do throughout the event.

Tits for Tournaments is rated factually opinionated. Expect results, army lists, and some light bitching about boring spam lists to follow.
