Hello , back again , at least for a bit …. Heres some of the additional work i agreed to do to go with the Spacewolf army.
Obviously WIP at the moment but the doggies are complete, I’m hoping to get them done by the end of this week or next RL permitting.
On 6th, TBH my Initial reaction is not good, currently it looks like DE are getting a massive shaft, I sense Wards hand in this…
Welcome to IG supported Terminator edition, in the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium there is only SALES !!
Once I have the book have played some games with a proper DE faq and talked to some other folks I’ll make a post about it, possibly even a vid if I’m feeling fruity…

Those look great!
Can’t wait to see them finished.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the book so all my questions can be answered and I can finally figure out what will work.
Hi,
Nice thunderwolves.
I don’t think 6th edition will be that bad for DE. Powerweapons & ap1/2 not getting rid of FnP helps mitigate that it’s gone down to 5+. Our flyers get better, and are good tools to take down opposing flyers. We only lost 3.5″ off our average charge range from a raider, however our transports can go further, and our jetbikes can go from one side of the board to the other in a turn.
Lots of buffs and nerfs, but on the whole I don’t think DE came off to bad.

You see thats exactly the problem, high volume low str attacks is what kills DE , a 4+ save is just better, wyches will still mostly loose their FNP if used to tarpit termies as they invariably have ap2 weps now, also str 6 still nukes it, generally it IS a nerf , you will see, expect to see less pow weps now too ….
our fliers got better along with everyone else’s flyers so I’m not sure its really valid, they are as good as they should have always been given their price/fragility, it remains to be seen just how useful they will actually be.
yes our averge charge has ‘only’ gone down 3.5 but the margin for error is a gulf , that distance became far less reliable, even 7″ is a 50/50 gamble now … so a realistic charge range of 19-20 is waht you literally must assume when setting up assaults now (the death of the turn one charge) also to contend with is stand-and-shoot reactions and a failed charge is essentially the end of a DE unit , I’m not sure we will see any DE cc units in use this edition … Incubi = terrible nerf , wyches = simply to fragile to gamble and agoniser nerf to boot
beasts – possibly usable but GW saf fit to price them beyond the means of most sane players . Taloi etc – MC’s still rubbish and lower cover saves/fnp will hurt
All DE characters are essentially pointless now (pending FAQ of our weapons)
we are in for a rough ride
I have to agree that I think DE probably lost the most out of every army.
You can’t even take Warriors in a raider and expect to get out and shoot, or move and shoot…
No weapons got worse at killing DE vehicles, but most stay relatively the same thanks to +1 on AP2.
Wyches lost survivability, range and get nothing in return, a haemonculus really isn’t a worthwhile investment when you only get a 5+ FNP, especially compared to a BA priest… I mean seriously?
Cover is just worse which means DE die even easier.
DE don’t get massed shots against vehicles since you ONLY get lances, which means trying to bring down flyers with normal units will be impossible..
It looks like jetbikes with skilled rider may get a 4+ cover save from going flat out or whatever, which its not really a buff, just remains the same.
Agonisers are now horrible for the price. Lances remain overpriced. Enemies can choose to shoot not in cover models.
Fleet is GONE (!!!!!) and rerolling charges doesn’t make up for it (should have given an additional d6).
Just haywire is better, but wyches with no FNP will be quite the joke, and scourges are hideously expensive.
Oh and DE can see in the dark, that will help in a few games…
Astonishing! You’ve actually managed to make the Thunderwolves look cool and savage rather than like something from a 1980’s cartoon show (I’m looking at you Battlecat… and shaking my head). The warm colours on the wolves really offset the riders’ armour; and your Viking Shields add a real sense of ancient menace. Cool beans.
Those doggies are lovely!
