So in my last posting I took a shot at Games Workshop over a topic that has been plaguing their customer base in Australia and New Zealand for quite some time now, but in a show of good will I'm going to share something that I have been enjoying recently, which are the digital downloads.

Since getting my hands on an iPad and inevitably falling prey to the many free apps and time wasting games available (damn you The Simpsons: Tapped Out), I've also purchased a couple of magazine subscriptions and a few of the Dames Workshop eBooks.

I've been enjoying the Call To Arms series after getting the Ultimate version as it's a nice manageable size in the way the guys are building and playing their armies and I've also enjoyed Tactica: Space Marine Heroes as I'm able to make notations on the iPad for ideas on future projects.

Living in a very small place, my hobby tends to take up a vast chunk of living real estate and the notion that my magazines can now be stored in a much smaller footprint is very pleasing to say the least.

One of the things I'm loving the most about the magazine subscriptions is that some companies have really embraced hyperlinks in their work to make it much easier to navigate and provide supporting material. GW have included 360 degree views of their new models in their publications and ImagineFX magazine has links to their workshop DVDs within the magazine.

The much cheaper price tag to the publications is also very pleasing to my ever bleeding wallet as well.

My big hope is that GW make all of their publications available for digital purchase and include a digital redemption coupon on all hard copies sold as well (nudge, nudge there GW. Might be a good way to make up for some of the price gouging you love to do in my part of the world).
