I was reading this post on BOLS this morning (instead of doing meaningful work, like I should be doing), and I was filled with sadness and consternation.

If the rumors in that post are true (and you can make your own conclusions about the click-bait over at that site), then the ork codex may really be a let-down.

I don't know about you, fellow greenskins, but one of the aspects of orks that I liked the most was the modeling and hobbying, and then the chaos that could ensue on the tabletop.  My ork collection is full of kit-bashed odds and ends (click on the "orks" label in the sidebar, if you'd like to see them), and I've fretted over the slow dismantling of what was, to my mind, a great element of being an ork player.

Other armies reveled in their uniformity, their clean lines, their confident predictability.

Ork armies were never sure if our looted basilisks would fire, or lurch ahead like a mushroom-addled snotling (on account of the mushroom-addled snotling behind the wheel).

I never got a chance to play Gorkamorka, so these pieces in the ork codex were nice for that flavor.

Maybe they're gone.

If they are gone, here's what I'm going to do. . . .

I'm going to find a game that includes these fun elements.  Something like Gorkamorka, or Necromunda, or a Mad Max tabletop game.  A game of fun, with low cost of entry, that lets me use my toys and make more.

If you know that game, please leave it in a comment.

But here's the other thing. . . .

If I can't find that game, I'm going to write it.
