Last weekend one of the most popular 40k events you have never heard of happen: The Kalm before the Waaagh!!
The Kalm this year was held in Madison Alabama at a place called Knuckleheads. With over 74 40k players this is one of the largest events around.
The Kalm does a good job of putting a K in Kasual wargaming. With missions objectives like killing Denise Richards and Evil Dead spoofs, the Kalm before the Waaagh is not for the competitive at heart.
The overall intent of the Kalm is simple: drink, laugh, and roll some dice.
As a one day event the Kalm is a leisurely affair of three games. With 2000 point armies the overall winner ended up thankfully not being Grey Knights.
