BoK Reviews: White Dwarf Issue #108
White Dwarf Issue #108: Da Face-Rippa Returns!
White Dwarf reviews operate differently than other Blood of Kittens Reviews. The goal with these reviews is to place a value for each issue. The rating system is one to four stars, each star represents $1 in value, to a max of four dollars. The review values are also Warhammer 40k based; Age of Sigmar dedicated issues will still be reviewed, but valued for Warhammer 40k players. It means you could see many low valued issues, with a general Games Workshop hobbyist actually valuing them more. Keep this in mind when deciding if a particular White Dwarf Issue is good for you.
Contents: New Releases
Warboss Grukk from the Sanctus Reach campaign has returned; now purchasable with a unit of Nobz, and along with him is a limited edition Ethereal boxed the new Tau Commander kit. By attaching these unique characters to other units it makes it easy for GW hike the price while sorta giving what players want. We also get more re-releases in the form of Waaagh Ghazghull and Farsight supplements. The Ork one is a real treat as GW updates it a new detachment and new formations. Farsight adds in the Kauyon and Mont’ka formations to the book. As for something new Orks get a start collecting set. GW also releases Supremacy Tactical Objectives, which have bigger rewards for harder mission goals assuring them to be completely inbalanced. Black Library gives us a new book Pharos for the Horus Heresy and an audio drama the Grey Talon. In the land of Forge World Skaarac the Bloodborn is kinda the first Sigmar only release, a very confusing looking model for the non-existent Age of Sigmar player.
Contents: Heroes of the Badab War
This preview from Warhammer Visions is a gloriously painted Red Scorpions army from Ben Ballard. This army use of grey with yellow is mind boggling. I have never seen a color like grey seem so vibrant, along with the muted yellow combined is pure genius. What is funny Ben wanted to go for a gritter battle worn look and in that sense he fails completely, but the intention doesn’t make this army any less of a masterclass.
What is GW saying?
Released Feb. 20th 2016

Contents: The Week In
The week in weak information we get a brief battle description of how a Tactical Supremacy cards work convincing no one these type of games are going to be any fun.
Next Issue Hint: Black and Silver…
Final Verdict
Issue #108 is sadly becoming a more common White Dwarf, the filler issue. The “new releases” are mostly retreads with some add pzazz, at the updated supplements are now cheaper!
