Final Top ITC Tournament Lists for the 2016-2017 Season
Blood of Kittens attempts to provide continued coverage of ITC events, in posts showcasing the top army lists from the largest events.
This particular post chronicles large events for December 2016 to January 2017.
December had only one large event, while January has been filled with tons of GTs and Major Events. The deadline to get ITC events submitted was January 30th, so any points and events that didn’t get their scores didn’t make the cut.
The only major event of December was held in the frozen land of Sweden 2016 with a Major Event called Westeros Winter ITC, this was a standard 1850 ITC event.
- Jony Kaijankoski 1st Overall Westeros Winter
- Andreas Berglund 2nd Overall Westeros Winter
- Jonas Abel 3rd Overall Westeros Winter
January was jammed pack with events the first to report was the IO Renegade GT, held in Glendale, Arizona. This was a standard 1850 ITC event
- Brandon Grant 1st Overall IO Renegade GT
- Geoff Robinson 2nd Overall IO Renegade GT
- Brett Perkins 3rd Overall IO Renegade GT
The same weekend also saw the Huzzah Hobbies’ Hammer in the New Year GT in Ashburn, Virginia. This event was a standard 1850 ITC event.
- Matt Schuchman 1st Overall Huzzah Hobbies’ Hammer in the New Year -Eldar
- Sean Nayden 2nd Overall Huzzah Hobbies’ Hammer in the New Year
- Eric Hoerger 3rd Overall Huzzah Hobbies’ Hammer in the New Year
The next week had the venerable TSHFT Major Event in Bellevue, Washington. This Major was a standard 1850 ITC event.
- Paul McKelvey 1st Overall TSHFT – Tau Empire
- Gareth Hunt 2nd Overall TSHFT – Chaos Renegades
- Sean Morgan 3rd Overall TSHFT – Tau Empire
The same weekend saw the highly competitive event the Glass City Grand Tournament, held in Toledo, Ohio. This GT was a standard 1850 ITC event.
- Aaron Aleong 1st Overall Glass City Grand Tournament
- Sean Nayden 2nd Overall Glass City Grand Tournament
- Brad Chester 3rd Overall Glass City Grand Tournament
Then we head across the pond to Southport, England and the Last Chance Open. This Major event was a standard 1850 ITC event.
- Dan Green 1st Overall Last Chance Open
- Richard Simms 2nd Overall Last Chance Open – Genestealer Cult
- Sohail Madadi 3rd Overall Last Chance Open
Next week got had us going to Rensselaer, New York and the Goldensprue Cup GT. This was a 1850 GT with modified Missions.
- Nick Nanavati 1st Overall Goldensprue Cup GT – Deamons
- Kurt Clauss 2nd Overall Goldensprue Cup GT – Eldar
- Alexander Fennell 3rd Overall Goldensprue Cup GT – Necrons
Back on the West Coast a last minute GT happened with the Ease into LVO GT held in San Diego, California. This was a standard ITC 1850 event.
- Joshua Death 1st Overall Ease into LVO GT
- Brandon Grant 2nd Overall Ease into LVO GT
- Adam Gati 3rd Overall Ease into LVO GT
Finally, the last weekend of January has three events with the first being the ‘NO RETREAT IV’ 40K INTERNATIONAL held on the island of Gibraltar! This was a 1750 point GT with modified missions and army construction.
- John Hickton 1st Overall ‘NO RETREAT IV’ 40K INTERNATIONAL – Tau Empire
- Mark Crombleholme 2nd ‘NO RETREAT IV’ 40K INTERNATIONAL
- Darren Allen 3rd Overall ‘NO RETREAT IV’ 40K INTERNATIONAL
Up in Lakewood, Washington was the 6th Elvensword Ambassadorial Tournament GT. This was an interesting 2000 point bracketed event with modified missions and March Madness styled pairing.
- Sean Morgan 1st Overall 6th Elvensword Ambassadorial Tournament – Tau Empire
- Nathan Billings 2nd Overall 6th Elvensword Ambassadorial Tournament – Eldar
- Alexander Kuehn 3rd Overall 6th Elvensword Ambassadorial Tournament – Eldar
Then we head to Mary Esther, Florida for the TBS LVO Prep Event. This was a standard ITC GT at 1850 points.
- Dylan Mosley 1st Overall TBS LVO Prep Event – Space Wolves
- Carter Leach 2nd Overall TBS LVO Prep Event – Dark Eldar
- John Moore 3rd Overall TBS LVO Prep Event – Tau Empire
Lastly we had the Australian Warhammer 40K ITC 2016 Championships Canberra, Australia. This was a standard ITC Major event at 1850 points.

- Shawn Hollingsworth 2nd Overall Australian Warhammer 40K ITC 2016 Championships
- Adam Camilleri 3rd Overall Australian Warhammer 40K ITC 2016 Championships
Oh my gos, that was a lot of events to end the ITC season with the LVO being just a few days away! I would have liked to get more lists, but I just didn’t have the same amount time to collect them with LVO so soon.
As for the final breakdown going into LVO, you can see Eldar still dominate as they have all year, but making a mad rush towards the top is the Tau Empire which past Space Marines for third place in total top wins. We also saw the newest hotness the Bark Star makes gains with some 1st place wins and the Genestealer Cults double its top placings.
