Power Armor Over Tank Treads: Warhammer 40k Tournament Results

Last weekend, 13 large Warhammer 40K events took place, with at least 26 players competing in 5 rounds. A total of 39 lists were used, with 18 different factions represented. The Astra Militarum fell back against the onslaught of truly terrifying power-armored armies, namely the Dark Angels. Taken together, loyalist Space Marine type armies had 13 out of the total 39 places, a whopping one-third. Aeldari also did very well this week, tying Dark Angels, with Ynnari and Craftworlds continuing to see a resurgence.

Army Breakdown (39 Lists, 2 Mixed List)

The other notable things from the weekend were seeing World Eaters faring quite well so far, with maybe more to come as more and more players get that army painted. Adeptus Mechanicus also grabbed an out-of-the-blue 1st place, but I am always suspicious of any perfect battle point score of 500, especially with one of the worst armies currently in the game.

We are still waiting for the Imperial Guard FAQ, which should be released any day now. It should at least require Karskin spam to actually require tactical skill.
