Welcome back everyone to what I hope will be the last overhaul of Blood of Kittens for some time. As you can tell a lot has changed– well mostly a lot has been added. I am going to attempt to keep this short because people tend to get bored reading through a wall of text that can look like a bad GW FAQ

Let us start with the big things…

Layout


Blood of Kittens has a new layout. The object of these layout changes is to give readers new and easier ways to explorer Blood of Kittens content– with a focus on community, authors, and news. Also added are some new and old features to the main site…

What you can find on the front page

  • BoK YouTube channel– provides easy access to the latest YouTube videos  and tournament coverage brought to you by BoK
  • Warhammer Podcasts– Updated weekly, this mp3 player provides easy links and listening to your favorite Warhammer podcasts.
  • Featured Posts– Find the most recent posts from the most important categories on Blood of Kittens.
  • Enhanced Activity Stream– The front page activity stream allows users to post updates to their profiles and groups easily.
  • Simple Social Buttons– Add BoK to google reader, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter
  • User Site Links– Easy links to the User generate websites that are part of the BoK network.
  • Posts from the Past– A randomly generated list of old BoK posts that take you down memory lane on just how douchey this site once was.

What you can find while reading any BoK article

  • BoK Authors– Easy links to find different articles by your favorite authors.
  • Network ChitChat– The most recent comments from the entire network are seen here.
  • Suggested Posts– Links to topics you might also like related to the current post you are reading.
  • Achievements Score– Users can keep updated on their current achievement score inside the Network.
  • Resource Sites– Easy links to the resource sites in the Network.
  • Recent Posts– The most recent posts made from all sites on the Network.
  • Achievement Leaderboard– See who has highest Achievement score.

Three New Sites

 

 

These three sites represent the core and  a beginning of the new Blood of Kittens experience.

Tournament Calendar: This site is devoted to listing as many upcoming Warhammer tournaments as possible. From big to small, anyone can navigate the calendar to find an event near them. For my part I will keep it updated of all GT qualifier events for the Skull of Thrones. All other events are up to the tournament organizer or players to send inform Blood of Kittens on their event. There is simple contact form at the top of the calendar page for anyone that is interested.

Warhammer Answers: This site was inspired by an idea to creating a resource by players and for players that answer any question– from fluff, tactics, to list building. Think Yahoo! Answers, but for wargamers. The only catch is (not ego, but programming reasons) only registered members can post questions, but anyone can answer them. This is currently a soft launch of this site, but please don’t let that you stop you from posting questions. In the future this site will have very specific integrated use so stay tuned.

Warhammer Art: Blood of Kittens launched this site a few months ago, sadly an error on my part caused it to crash so it has not been up for awhile. Well I finally fixed the problem and it is working once again! Warhammer art is an archive for all the art of you find in any Games Workshop related product. With over 300 pic and growing check back to this site whenever possible– just remember to hit refresh.

Well that is pretty much it guys. There are other design feature changes, but they are really not that important and you will see some of them soon enough anyway. As always anyone is welcome to register with Blood of Kittens and get the latest on rumors, news, and all things Warhammer.
