The Last Top ITC Tournament Lists for 7th Edition
Blood of Kittens attempts to provide continuous coverage of ITC events, in posts showcasing the Top 3 army lists from the largest events.
This particular post chronicles the large events for March 2017.
This will be the last Warhammer 40k 7th edition army list post! It just seems like March was the swan song for 7th edition with Adepticon capping the most bananas Warhammer 40k era ever.
Now, that we know 8th edition is coming out in June, it just doesn’t make sense to keep on posting lists that will be obsolete in about a month and half. This doesn’t mean we don’t have any Warhammer 40k 7th edition events going on well into June, it just means Blood of Kittens won’t be covering them.
Have no fear though the list posting will return!
I already know a few events will be switching to 8th edition for July so expect the next report to come by the end of that month. Things though won’t really get trucking until sometime between the Bay Area Open and Nova Open. I am so excited to see what happens with 8th, I am sure it is going to be CRAZY to see what armies are and are not working for the early months of 8th edition.
Anyway, let us finish up 7th with lists from the large March 2017 events!
The first Major event March came to use from the granddaddy of tournaments Adepticon held in Chicago. This was heavily modified ITC event.
- Dan Platt 1st Overall Adepticon 2017
- Greg Sparks 2nd Overall Adepticon – Eldar
- Mike Taylor 3rd Overall Adepticon 2017
The same weekend as Adepticon in close by in Cincinnati, was the GT Cagbash 10!. This was a standard 1850 ITC event.
- Aaron Aleong 1st Overall Cagbash 10!
- Bryan Hancock 2nd Overall Cagbash 10! – Eldar
- Nathan Gould 3rd Overall Cagbash 10!
The next Major event of March 2017 was March Madness in Arkansas. This was a standard 1850 ITC event.
- Baxter Seguin 1st Overall March Madness
- Bryan Swanson 2nd Overall March Madness – Space Marines
- Cody Middleton 3rd Overall March Madness 2017
The the same weekend also had a GT in Australia the Meta-Busting March. This was a standard 1650 ITC event.
- Iain Andrew 1st Overall Meta-Busting March 2017
- Ben Medbury 2nd Overall Meta-Busting March – Renegades
- Liam Robinson 3rd Overall Meta-Busting March- Space Marines
That does it for the month of March, below is the final breakdown of lists by codex. The list will be reset for 8th edition as not to confuse people on what armies are currently dominating the meta.
Below is the current breakdown of what armies are winning events. The list combines all the top events for the 2017 ITC season, taking only the top three winners from Major or GT events.
- 7 Eldar
- 5 Daemon
- 3 Space Marines
- 3 Dark Angels
- 1 Renegades
- 1 Tau Empire
- 1 Imperial Knights
If you want to see more lists separated by army/codex you can always check out the 7th Edition Top Army List Compendium.
Like I said, expect the next report to come sometime in July, until then get excited for 8th edition it should be at least very very different!
