Watching stocks over the short-term is often an experiment in futility; on July 1st 2021 we looked back at the state of Games Workshop’s stock and financial health, and today we do the same…

Delta, Delta, Delta, can I not help ya? Well yeah that pandemic thing, it is still going and it is really at this point pissing off everyone, so last month stock markets around the world were not too happy about it. Thankfully, Games Workshop decided it could distract us with a new Age of Sigmar edition and a host of drama creating headlines. Would it have an effect on the stock itself though?

So with that, let us see how Games Workshop stock performed for the past month.

As you can see Games Workshop again almost hit another all time high, only to have it dashed by the end of the month thanks to an Annual report for fiscal 2020-2021.

Was the annual report that bad?

No, it was actually pretty fantastic with sales reaching new highs thanks to the launch of Warhammer 40k 9th edition, along with everyone being stuck at home needing models to build and paint. Profits were driven by an Online sales with good margins and tons of North America demand. This drop was mostly some profit taking, along with another dividend going out. Games Workshop even gave every employee a 5k bonus to show just how good things are; coincidently timed with some back to back bad press. Thanks to leaks of how poorly Games Workshop pays employees and continued IP wars with fans.

While some in the community want boycotts along with crying, it is pretty clear that Games Workshop shareholders and investors could care less, as the company continues to grow at breakneck speed, with only Covid and supply chain issues holding them back.
